Level A1-A2 means here: The vocabulary and the grammar of the texts correspond mainly to proficiency level A1, besides that there are subordinate clauses and vocabulary of level A2. Very rarely there may appear even more difficult words or structures, but those won't affect the overall comprehension of the story.
